In 2013, Creta Maris Beach Resort, powered by Local Food Experts, published its first sustainability report. Since then, LFE has been constantly empowering our management staff with creative consulting, for enriching our sustainable practices and communicating our sustainable company profile.

We are very glad to cooperate with “Local Food Experts”. Their ideas and expertise are just brilliant! They find practical ways to translate sustainability theory into practice… Our hotels have advanced their sustainable performance by applying simple low-cost improvements in varied fields, such as operations, landscape management, guest communication, food producing and more…

The ethical relationship with local society and local economy has been the target of Lyrarakis family since the start of our family business, back in 1966. This is one of the areas where we fit with Local Food Experts. LFE are helping us to substantiate our vision and targets and creating a sustainable winery business.

I am grateful for having learned so many useful things about the sustainable cultivation of the vineyard. LFE have also taught me to protect myself, the environment and the product I am producing…. My biggest reward, apart the improved income, is the contact with tourists visiting my vineyard… at the end of every excursion, I am moved by their hugs and their understanding of what the word Cretan “hospitality” means, while they are thanking me…
