Indigenous vine varieties: Open Air Museum by Lyrarakis wines

In June 2017, Lyrarakis wines presented the Open Air Museum (OAM) for indigenous vine varieties of Crete. The OAM was conceived by Local Food Experts and realized by Lyrarakis wines during the cooperation for the “First steps towards a sustainable food destination”, a project supported by TUI Care Foundation. Vines from eight varieties cultivated on Crete for centuries have been offered by local winegrowers and transplanted in the OAM under the supervision of LFE.

Nowadays, the OAM is a vital part of the Winery tour, an excellent chance for the visitors to “meet” part of the agricultural heritage of Crete.
